Andy Cooperman lecture
I thought Cooperman's works were all quite beautiful. The shapes are very elegant and graceful and his choice of material really compliments the work. I thought it was interesting that titling his work was so important for him, since a lot of artists (especially with abstract art it seems) leave a lot of work untitled. He said that it helped explain his process but I thought a lot of the titles didn't explain much at all, but merely described an aspect of the piece. The pieces made from sibuichi I think were the most interesting. Some of them really did resemble reptile skin, which is not something you often see done with metal. I'd also never heard of that metal before so it was doubly interesting to get exposed to some creative crafts sculpted from it.
